Meet Melissa
Melissa Colabella is a real estate advisor with Compass who has sold more than $200 million in homes throughout Westchester County. Known for her market knowledge, strategic approach, and highly personalized client service, Melissa advises buyers and sellers across a wide range of Westchester communities and price points.
She spent the first ten years of her real estate career at Julia B. Fee Sotheby’s International Realty, where she was consistently recognized as a top producer. Today, Melissa is ranked by RealTrends Verified among the top 1.5% of real estate professionals nationwide and has been recognized by Westchester Magazine as one of the “Best Real Estate Agents” in Westchester County. Her work and expertise have also been featured in 914INC., Westchester Home, Realtor.com, Apartment Therapy, and other publications. In 2019, she received the Five Star Professional Rising Star Award, an honor awarded to fewer than 1% of agents industry-wide.
Melissa brings an uncommon combination of real estate, design, marketing, and business experience to her work. She studied interior design, decorative arts, and architecture at the New York School of Interior Design and earned her undergraduate degree from Fordham University’s Gabelli School of Business, where she majored in Marketing. Prior to real estate, Melissa held project management and marketing roles at Allianz Global Investors and PIMCO. As a landlord and real estate investor herself, she also brings firsthand experience in property ownership, management, and the long-term considerations that extend beyond a transaction. She holds the GREEN designation, providing additional expertise for clients interested in improving the efficiency and sustainability of their homes.
A Westchester native, Melissa has built her business around understanding not only the county’s housing markets, but the nuances that distinguish one community from another. Through Destination Westchester, her YouTube and social media platform, she helps prospective buyers understand what it is actually like to live throughout the county. Her ability to connect clients with the community that best suits the way they want to live has earned her a reputation as a “matchmaker” for lifestyles north of New York City.
Born in White Plains and now raising her family in Pleasantville, Melissa is deeply invested in the communities she serves. She is a member of the Pleasantville, Tarrytown and Sleepy Hollow Chambers of Commerce and the Pleasantville Lions Club, and serves on the board of the Pleasantville Children’s Center.
